Abstract:

A nationwide coalition of domestic and sexual violence organizations has filed suit challenging new federal grant restrictions imposed by the Trump-Vance administration on Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) funding. Brought by the National Women’s Law Center on behalf of 17 state coalitions, the lawsuit argues that the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women has imposed unlawful conditions that threaten essential survivor services and undermine Congress’s intent in enacting VAWA.
