Abstract: 

A new study by the Worker Institute at Cornell University finds that intimate partner violence (IPV) has significant and lasting effects on workers’ wellbeing and employment. Drawing on data from the 2024 Empire State Poll, researchers report that nearly one in five respondents experienced IPV, with almost half reporting negative impacts on their jobs. The study highlights how IPV intersects with workplace sexual harassment, discrimination, and identity, and calls for stronger employee resource groups and renewed investment in independent research.
