Abstract:
The Seminole County Sheriff partnered with the Seminole County Probation Division to pioneer a progressive new program called “Electronic Monitoring Protection and Crime Tracking” (EMPACT) in order to provide an extra layer of protection and security for the already vulnerable victims of domestic abuse. Jeff Bacigalupi, Senior Probation Officer in charge of EMPACT, examines the program’s design and implementation, including trouble-shooting the unavoidable problems that typically arise in such programs.Keywords: TracNet24; domestic violence; restraining orders
