Abstract: 

Our regular survey of important research findings reviews two new papers dealing with nutrition care of pregnant women and issues in recruiting and retaining health professionals in corrections. Reviewed are “Best Practices for Nutrition Care of Pregnant Women in Prison” by Rebecca J. Shlafer, Jamie Stang, Danielle Dallaire, Catherine A. Forestell, and Wendy Hellerstedt, published in the Journal of Correctional Health Care (2017); and “A Major Challenge for Corrections: National Survey Findings Identify Challenges in Recruiting and Retaining Correctional Health Professionals” by Elizabeth F. Gondles, Kathleen F.Maurer, and Alexis Bell, published in Corrections Today 16 (2017).
