Correctional Health Care Report

Abstract:

The 7th Circuit Court ruled, in Dobbey v. Miller, 2018 WL 1640155, that health care providers at Stateville Correctional Center in Illinois were not deliberately indifferent in spite of the fact that the plaintiff had suffered three years of abdominal pain with little relief. The case illustrates that a record of care and treatment is a sure defense against a charge of deliberate indifference—even if treatment fails to provide relief.
